Fauci clearly needed to plead the 5th.  Why? To keep him from incriminating himself in the face of state-led investigations.

Fauci had a dilemma. Clearly he lied in his early testimonies before Rand Paul's committee. Had he contradicted himself it would become very clear that he either previously lied or was lying now.

Fauci has federal immunity. However, he does not have immunity from state prosecutions.  Anything and everything he said could and 'will' be used against him in state litigation. The fact that three states have now started independent investigations of him prove this.

Fauci is a crook.  He was complicit in the grossest manipulation of the American people to date.  His actions destroyed jobs, destroyed businesses and damaged the education of America's children.  While he did this he was raking in millions.  His salary was subsidized by Big Pharma.  He arranged book deals, he coordinated awards for himself that had high dollar amounts connected to them.

I personally think he should be tried, convicted and hung.

As an aside, that darned verification is a pain.  Especially for someone like me who has glaucoma.

I don't doubt it amounted to reckless endangerment, but I was dead on my feet and just happy to get home that day. I'm guessing the driver was in the same state as myself.

In California, I was once riding a local transit bus when the driver drove through a railroad crossing just as the gates were coming down, and one of the gates hit the top of the bus as it was coming down. I memorized the bus number and time of the incident and made a complaint against the driver with the transit agency. That was the only time that the agency ever responded to one of my complaints; the rest they just ignored. Ignoring railway gates is a very serious offense. In a collision with a train, the train will win every time.

A while back I was riding a Winnipeg Transit bus home from work, and much to my astonishment, as the gates came down and the lights were flashing, the driver decided to zig-zag around the gates and zoom through in front of the approaching train. I guess he was in a hurry to end his shift.

I can see all kinds of scenarios in which a vehicle gets trapped on tracks in front of an approaching train, variously from breaking down, getting physically snagged on something, or simply boxed in by traffic. But even then I'd imagine one would notice an approaching train and at least attempt to exit the vehicle. I suppose some people get caught up in an overblown sense of duty and don't want to abandon the vehicle. "If this vehicle gets smashed by that train, they're gonna make me pay for it! Gotta stay in here and rescue it somehow!"

Quote from: Phoenix on Aug 07, 2026, 10:55 AMI've still never figured out how you get hit by a train... unless you want to be.

Decades ago, I remember reading about a San Jose, California police officer who, in hot pursuit of a suspect, tried to drive around the gates at a railroad crossing and was hit and killed by an oncoming train. It was reckless, but, at the same time, I get it. He didn't want to be thought of as a wuss for waiting for the train and letting the suspect get away. Unfortunately, the laws of physics don't care about your motives.

"Wab Kinew"??

QuoteThe Canadian province of Manitoba has elected the first First Nations premier of a province in Canada. Manitobans elected an NDP government led by Wab Kinew, was raised as a young boy on the Onigaming First Nation in northwestern Ontario, later moving with his family to Winnipeg.

If ever there was a tribe who deserved a casino, it's the "Oni-gaming". ;D

News / Correctional System Decline Th...

Pretty much every part of a country is going to go into decline as it buckles under the weight of the multi-cult. I have a dedicated thread for what's happening to the medical system; most likely will be making one for the education system; and a couple of recent incidents have made me decide it's time to create this thread.
